Newly obtained court documents provide additional information about the September 26, 2025, crash in Mechanicsville that left a St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s deputy injured and led to multiple charges against Juwaun Tirek Queen, 22, of Hollywood. According to the statement of probable cause, Queen was driving a silver Toyota Corolla when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of North Sandgates Road and Three Notch Road. His vehicle crossed both directions of traffic and crashed head-on into a marked patrol cruiser operated by Corporal Reppel. Responding deputy Andrew Budd reported that Queen smelled strongly of alcohol and exhibited slurred speech, glassy eyes, and unsteady balance. Queen allegedly failed all three field sobriety tests and refused both a roadside breath test and an Intoximeter test following his arrest. While searching Queen’s wallet for identification, deputies discovered a plastic wrapper containing a white powdery substance. Deputy Budd identified the substance as suspected cocaine, a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.
