Firefighters from Calvert and St. Mary’s County Responding to Large Outside Fire in California

On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at approximately 5:50 p.m., firefighters from Bay District and Solomons Responded to the Myrtle Point Park located at 24050 Patuxent Boulevard in California, for the reported large outside fire. Multiple 911 callers reported a large outside fire near the Myrtle Point beach, with one caller advising it may be inaccessible by land. A brush truck and tanker from bay District along with a boar from Solomons responded to the scene. Firefighters arrived in the area and reported a large column of smoke. Due to the amount of smoke in the area, and unknown size of fire, crews from Hollywood, Solomons, Ridge, Seventh District and Valley Lee were responded to the scene to assist. Firefighters are currently on the scene attempting to find and extinguish the fire. Avoid the area of Myrtle Point Park, Patuxent Boulevard, and Myrtle Point Road in California.
