Lexington Park Man Pleads Guilty to Reckless Endangerment and Illegal Possession of a Regulated Firearm for Shooting in March of 2021

UPDATE 5/11/2022: State’s Attorney Fritz announces that on May 9, 2022, Deyonta Gross, 28 years-old of Lexington Park, has pled guilty to multiple counts of Reckless Endangerment and Illegal Possession of a Regulated Firearm in connection with a shooting from March 9, 2021 in the Valley Estate’s neighborhood of Lexington Park. Thankfully, no one was hit by the gunfire despite the fact that multiple homes were struck. Mr. Gross is awaiting sentencing and could get up to ten years in the Division of Corrections. Fritz would like to thank Senior Assistant State’s Attorney John Stackhouse for successfully securing the convictions. Mr. Fritz would also like to thank Detective Austin Schultz and the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office for the hard work on the case. 5/9/2021: On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, police responded to the 21900 block of Spring Valley Drive in Lexington Park, for the reports of shots fired. Police arrived on the scene and found multiple residences were struck by bullets. No known injuries were reported. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.
