On Saturday, October 24, 2020, at approximately 1:00 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of Oakley Road and Cobrums Wharf Road in Avenue, for the motor vehicle accident reported serious with one vehicle overturned. Crews arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle overturned in the front yard of a residence, with the single occupant trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters extricated the patient in under 5 minutes from arrival. Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 landed nearby and transported the victim to an area trauma center.
