Planting the Seeds of Hope Campaign Exceeds Fundraising Goal, Raises Half a Million for Behavioral Health Services in Southern Maryland

The CalvertHealth Foundation is excited to announce the successful completion of the Planting Seeds of Hope Campaign. With a goal to raise $250,000 toward the much-needed behavioral health renovation and expansion project at CalvertHealth Medical Center, 150 supporters and an anonymous matching donation of $250,000 helped raise $506,470 to serve the mental health needs of our community. Recognizing the growing need of mental health services for the community, the renovation of the Frank Miller Howes, MD Behavioral Health Unit at CalvertHealth Medical Center will be complete in spring of 2021. Once opened, the $5.2 million project will allow for expanded inpatient admission criteria for mental health patients in crisis. The new unit will showcase separate, secure therapeutic environments for adults and adolescents allowing CalvertHealth to accommodate more patients and tailor treatment needs specific to age groups.
