St. Mary’s County Man Facing $3,000 Fine for Illegally Selling Oysters

On November 26, 2020, Maryland Natural Resources Police learned that David Evans, 35, of Tall Timbers, was selling oysters to the public without proper FDA and Health Department certifications. To investigate further, Officers went undercover to meet Evans. Upon arrival, they located illegally obtained oysters in Evans’ vehicle. As a result, Evans was charged with selling oysters at a location other than a buy station, failing to complete a shellfish buy ticket, and illegally selling oysters. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
