UPDATE: Hit and Run Driver Who Struck 18-Year-Old Pedestrian in California Identified as 20-Year-Old Lexington Park Woman

UPDATE: The vehicle and the operator of the vehicle involved in the collision has been identified. Investigation determined Jakiya Annette Bowman, age 20 of Lexington Park, was driving the 2013 Nissan Altima that struck the victim and then fled the scene. Approximately 10 minutes after the pedestrian was struck, police, fire and rescue personnel were then dispatched for a separate motor vehicle collision in the area of Shady Mile Drive and Patuxent Beach Road in California. Crews arrived on the scene to find a black Nissan Altima into the guardrail at the end of Shady Mile Drive near Patuxent Beach Road in California At this time, speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the collision.
